PAUL, MINN. (March 9, 2020) <\/strong>\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/career-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Career opportunities<\/a> in music and hospitality are growing, and Minnesota students now have access to new <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/programs\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scholarships<\/a> to make their own big break. The new program comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.affinityplus.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (Affinity Plus)<\/a> and Music Forward Foundation (Music Forward) as part of the launch of the new premier music venue, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fillmoreminneapolis.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Fillmore Minneapolis<\/a> presented by Affinity Plus.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership adds two new $5,000 scholarships for Minnesota college students or Affinity Plus members studying out-of-state pursuing a career related to the music industry. Field of study may include but is not limited to live event operations, production, <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/artist-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">music engineering<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/career-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">music business management<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/about-us\/#why-music-forward\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">music education<\/a>, customer service, hospitality and\/or related fields. <a href=\"https:\/\/musicforwardfoundation.org\/programs\/scholarships\/\">Applications are open<\/a> now through March 31. Scholarship award recipients will be announced in June 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The new scholarships demonstrate the power of partnership, with collaboration from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Affinity Plus Foundation: Offering more than $70,000 in scholarships for students in any field in traditional, non-traditional and graduate degree paths, with a significant portion dedicated to students on campuses with an Affinity Plus branch.<\/li>\n<li>Music Forward Foundation: Awarding four $10,000 scholarships to outstanding college students in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livenationentertainment.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Nation Entertainment<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thellf.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Living Legacy Foundation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to invest in our members and communities, and we\u2019re thrilled to add these new scholarships for our members and local students \u2013 as well as increase access to Music Forward\u2019s national giving program,\u201d said Dave Larson, CEO of Affinity Plus.<\/p>\n<p>Nurit Smith, executive director for the Music Forward Foundation said, \u201cWe are honored to be partnering with Affinity Plus on this new scholarship for Minnesota youth focused on careers in the music industry. It\u2019s important to ensure that all young people have access and opportunity into this substantial multi-billion dollar industry.
